Job Summary:

• Builds cribs to provide support to the workings of the mine. This is accomplished by uniformly stacking 40 to 80 pound blocks of wood.
• Vertically places timbers in recommended pattern to support the roof.
• Shovels coal onto beltlines.
• Hang ventilation tubing which provides proper ventilation into the mine.
• Installs mesh, this includes measuring, cutting and manually transporting mesh to areas of installation.
• Moves longwall monorail by attaching it to the mine roof in front of advancement. Included is detachment from roof as longwall advances.
• Works in a continuous miner section with mobile equipment operating in the area.
• Housekeeping of the mine. This includes cleaning up trash and debris in all areas of the mine.
• Good work ethic and positive mental attitude.
• Any other duties as assigned.
