Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to manage engineering projects from the proposal phase through to qualification and design. The successful candidate will review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements. This role requires performing necessary calculations to ensure equipment performance meets specifications, preparing all necessary project documents, and conducting analytical studies on engineering proposals and existing designs for hydraulic products.
Responsibilities
Engineer projects from the proposal phase through qualification and design.
Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements.
Perform necessary calculations to demonstrate equipment performance to specifications.
Collaborate with engineering staff to prepare all necessary project documents, including schedules, designs, drawings, and reports.
Conduct analytical studies on engineering proposals and existing designs for hydraulic products.
Draft and design mechanical equipment, with a preference for aerospace equipment, especially hydraulic components or systems.
Perform basic calculations such as weight, stress, and spring design.
Communicate effectively with above-average oral and written skills.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Experience in valve design and hydraulics.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in designing hydraulic valves and components.
3+ years of experience in the industrial aerospace industry.
Project management experience.
Experience in mechanical engineering, machine design, tooling, automated equipment, servo valves, hydraulic systems, and new product development.
Knowledge of Dfmea, aerospace, systems engineering, sustainable design, and development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Preferred experience in servo valve design.
Ability to lead and mentor a design team.
Work Environment
