NCSU/Campus Enterprises Facilities Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina

Essential Job Duties Reporting to the Senior Director of Auxiliary Services, provide management and administrative oversight over all Auxiliary Services and CE Administrative building facilities, fixtures and equipment, including capital project management and ongoing maintenance and repair of department physical assets. Works as the departments primary liaison with the Facilities division in administering the Campus Enterprises - Facilities maintenance and repair MOU. Ensures compliance and effective coordination with Facilities and other university, local, and state agencies as necessary to maximize the performance, longevity and business resiliency of the departments physical plant and associated assets.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

CAPITAL PROJECTS: Working directly with Auxiliary Services (including hereafter CE Administrative Service facilities), providing expertise and guidance on the planning, development and administration of Auxiliaries facilities projects to ensure new construction and renovations achieve operational objectives and contractors perform quality work that is completed on time and within budget.

FACILITY MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR: In addition to capital project administration, manage the MOU Agreement between Campus Enterprises and Facilities for all Auxiliary Services and CE Administration related work orders. This includes routine, emergency, planned and preventative maintenance program activities. Make recommendations for modifications to the terms and conditions of the MOU on an annual basis or as otherwise determined by CE leadership.

Communication and Leading Work Teams: Be the primary point of contact for all Auxiliary Services capital projects. Keep directors informed of progress of projects that impact their unit(s). Continually develop new and/or maintain effective relationships with vendor partners, including equipment repair companies, peer institutions, as well as internal university relationships. Serve as the technical resource to verify, validate, or suggest modifications to proposed solicitations provided to Auxiliary Services.

Critical Thinking / Safety Management: As a member of the Auxiliary Services leadership team reporting to the Senior Director of Auxiliary Services, anticipate facility needs and provide proactive insight in support of operational strategies related to customer service, workplace conditions and safety, business continuity and cost controls.

Change and Financial Management: Develop, recommend and implement approved changes to procedures and policies based upon current industry trends and best practices. Recommend modifications to capital projects in order to meet budget constraints and/or time deadlines. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture. Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols, including Rave! Catering dress code. Due to operational needs of the NC State Dining department, an employee may be assigned to work in any NC State Dining department including, but not limited to special events. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in the trade(s) areas assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Other Required Qualifications Extensive knowledge of practices, policies and procedures associated with building and capital projects is required. Extensive knowledge of architectural drawings and MEP system design is required. Considerable knowledge of strategic planning methodologies and practices.Ability to lead and direct development and implementation of program goals and objectives. Read, interpret, and explain architectural drawings and plans, and contractual agreements. Experience leading and/or working within a project team. Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships and be a member of a productive team. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors; and professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the University. Proficient in the use of computers, specifically with Microsoft Office or Google platform software. Experience using Google mail. Have the ability to learn new software programs. Preferred Qualifications Progressive management experience. Knowledge of university, state and federal rules, regulations, policies and procedures associated with capital projects and building projects on campus. Required License(s) or Certification(s) A valid North Carolina drivers license must be obtained within 60 days of start date and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
