Job Description

We have a leadership role in our EHS organization available which is accountable for all EHS program execution and compliance at our Manufacturing Division's Global Vaccine Manufacturing areas and our Research and Development (R&D) facilities across the network globally.
The goal of this position is to influence site, regional and global business partners to drive prioritization of regulatory compliance, integration of EHS performance objectives into standard work processes, and continuous improvement. We are looking for a candidate that models a strong compliance mindset and has experience in pharmaceutical R&D or manufacturing and develops strategies to achieve EHS goals in alignment with company business objectives and values. The candidate should be self-motivated, reliable, and persistent as well as energized and motivated by identifying and developing talent. Must be collaborative and enthusiastic with a focus on ensuring the EHS teams bring value to the business and success within the company.
Primary Responsibilities:
Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for EHS performance and compliance through active participation and promotion of our Company's EHS Program. Assure compliance objectives and team goals are achieved per requirements/ schedule.
Identify and develop talent at all levels of the organization.
Interface with Corporate, Division, plant and external community organizations/agencies regarding EHS issues and strategy. Serve as single EHS point of contact for the Research Facilities and Global Vaccine Operations.
Provide expert advice and technical guidance for EHS programs and projects. Serve as key person accountable for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the EHS management system.
Develop solutions that are progressive, innovative, compliant, and scalable. Demonstrate robust portfolio and project management and rapid disciplined decision making.
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable results across EHS projects and programs, EHS assessments and resulting action plans; ensure identified actions are completed in accordance with identified target dates.
Facilitate leadership team cohesion, assure rapid communication, and best practice sharing with peers/ management. Prospectively function as a conduit of information between the operating facilities and EHS&S management at Site, Division and Corporate levels. Own decisions and be accountable for outcomes.
Anticipate, recognize, and respond to changing internal and external trends, market conditions, regulatory legislation, etc. Evaluate and integrate the information to define the potential effect on the company/network.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor ’s Degree required (should have a concentration in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science or related technical discipline)
Masters/MBA; Relevant professional certification preferred
Required Experience and Skills:
Direct experience in leading multiple geographically dispersed sites, matrixed functions, or research or manufacturing operations within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or other similar industry.
Must be willing to tackle tough issues with tact and diplomacy in a timely fashion.
Proven experience leading a site program such as Manufacturing, Research, Tech Ops function, Quality or EHS Plant Leadership in pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
Strong leadership, talent management, change execution, and financial management skills. Readily and actively contributes to the success of the global team.
Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make decisions with speed, discipline, and accuracy.
Robust interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; visible proclivity for collaboration and driving improved outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate with regulatory agencies and senior operations leaders; escalates issues rapidly to point of resolution.
Vision and sound judgment with a willingness to influence and offer new ideas; ability to develop strategy and execute tactically.
Excellent coaching & development experience, development of people, and succession planning. Builds and cultivates strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
Ability to distill complex issues and concepts into frameable and relevant communications or escalations.
Declarative and provides strong sponsorship of own, line, or executive management decisions.
Up to 20% travel (including international) is required.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$206,200.00 - $324,600.00
