Meeting Street is currently looking for a Pre-K Teacher in our Early Learning Center working 40 hours weekly. Pay range is $19.00 to $23.39 based on experience.
Duties:
- Facilitate interaction among children to provide opportunities for emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
- Monitor the developmental progress of each child through observation and data collection.
- Use data to inform and develop curriculum.
- Actively participate in and supports efforts to maintain NAEYC accreditation, Brightstars quality rating, RI DCYF and RI Department of Education licensing regulations.
- Demonstrate positive guidance techniques with children including redirection, modeling appropriate behavior and praise.
- Foster the development of age-appropriate self-help skills in children (diapering/toileting/feeding/dressing).
- Create and implement a curriculum that promotes active learning by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate learning experiences, making appropriate accommodations and modifications as necessary using RI Early Learning Development Standards as guidance.
- Partner with families to ensure high quality care and education for children.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in either Early Childhood Education, child development or related field.
- Current RIDE teacher certification in Early Childhood Education (PK -2).
- Special education certification (early childhood) is preferred. As well as RIELDS Foundations of Early Education and implementing a Standards-Based Classroom (formerly RIELS level 2 or 3).
- Valid CPR and First Aid training/certification.
