The patient attendant provides direct and constant observation to assigned patients that require monitoring for safety reasons.

Schedule:

• 0.01 FTE (Casual FTE- ability to pick up shifts as able)

• day/evening/night shift

• one weekend per month

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety through close and constant observation of the patient

• Observes for real and potential threats to the patient’s safety and initiates appropriate action to prevent patient harm

• Reports observations directly to the patient’s assigned nurse or to the unit’s charge nurse

• Documents observations in the designated appropriate manner

• Other duties as assigned which do not require clinical competency (i.e stocking rooms, answering call lights)
