Summary

Join our team as an Operations Safety Lead! We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Operations Safety Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs and initiatives across our operations. Shift(s)

  • Usually works three to five days a week, with overtime as required based on production need.

  • A - Days Shift : 7:30am-7:00pm, Wednesday - Saturday

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing, and reporting unsafe acts and conditions Overseeing Lockout- Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.

  • Lead safety training sessions for employees to promote a culture of safety and awareness.

  • Interview associates on knowledge of safety programs and ensure appropriate training is provided.

  • Collaborate with management to establish safety goals and monitor progress toward achieving them.

  • Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and recommending improvements to prevent recurrence.

  • Serve as a resource for safety-related inquiries and provide guidance to team members on best practices.

  • Promote continuous improvement of safety programs and initiatives across all operational areas.

Minimum Education

  • High School or equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one (1) employer within the past 1 year.

Experience Preferred

  • Previous experience in a poultry distribution/processing/manufacturing environment preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment:

  • Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

  • Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.

  • May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 25 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
