Job Description
Responsible for performing activities including but not limited to assisting the shipping supervisor in workload distribution, training new hires, inventory checks, and other duties assigned by the Shipping supervisor. The individual in this position thoroughly understands process flows and works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. The individual works under minimum supervision with tasks that include proper pallet building skills, forklift training, and loading requirements for shipping. Activities also include packaging, crating, bundling, and preparing products for shipment. Work may include the use of banding, stretch wrap machines, RF Scanners, and material handling equipment. All work is to be performed in a professional, timely, accurate, and efficient manner. All other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
Ensure all details of tasks are accomplished properly.
Set good examples for others and be a good role model.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and consider the impact of the customer when making decisions.
Perform shift-related duties during supervisor absences or as needed.
Mentor, guide, and assist other warehouse associates in learning and following preferred methods in all work-related issues.
Report any damaged material, short quantities, or discrepancies to management immediately.
Utilize proper lifting techniques and ask for help when necessary.
Attend all safety training meetings.
Report all work-related injuries and safety violations to RDC Manager or RDC Assistant Manager.
Comply with governmental safety regulations (OSHA).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Forklift operation
Shipping and receiving
Inventory management
RF scanner usage
Proficiency on all powered equipment (with proper training)
Basic math skills for accurate counting, multiplication, and division
Previous use of warehouse management systems
Ability to use a handheld RF scanner and desktop computer, and navigate through multiple screens
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug test and background check
Competency in planning and organizing
Effective communication skills
Commitment to safety

Work Environment
Medium-sized warehouse distributing appliances and bath and shower products. The role requires physical handling of material and the use of various warehouse equipment. The individual must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, and frequently twisting, stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and crouching. Proper techniques must be used to lift 50 pounds. Safety is a priority, with adherence to OSHA regulations and participation in safety training meetings.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prince George, Virginia.
PAY : $21.58-32.32
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.58 - $32.32/hr.
