The ideal candidate will work closely with B& N\'s Pacific Northwest Region Director and the B& N Planning Team to develop and grow Burgess & Niple\'s presence as a premier planning consultant in the Portland metropolitan area and beyond. B& N Senior Transportation Planner Responsibilities: Deliver a wide range of planning services to clients and develop new client opportunities in the Pacific Northwest Manage key projects and work closely with a team of planners helping clients deliver comprehensive/master plans, long-range plans, corridor and project level studies, active transportation plans, area plans, safety plans, etc We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, age, national origin, disability status, marital status, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Develop client relationships and engage in business development efforts with support from our marketing team and office leaders Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal/external project teams to identify issues, develop and analyze concepts, recommend solutions, prepare reports and other communication materials, and engage with the public Assist in the development of transportation planning project proposals Participate in delivering professional services related to all aspects of transportation planning to a wide variety of clients including state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), and local governments Skills and Qualifications: Completion of a 4-year degree in Urban/City/Regional Planning, Geography (urban), Civil Engineering or similar 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community planning, transportation planning, or safety planning Certification by American Institute of Certified Planners preferred Excellent communication skills and detail oriented Project management and business development experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office; GIS software preferred Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
