This role provides commercial legal support to PBNA Divisions and Away From Home Foodservice.
This role will report to Senior Legal Director, PBNA and may be based out of either PepsiCos Purchase, NY, Chicago, IL, or Plano, TX headquarters.
Responsibilities - Negotiate and draft complex customer agreements with retail, restaurant, recreation, hospitality, distribution, operator and convenience customers. - Daily engagement and collaboration with internal business teams (sales, finance, marketing, supply chain etc.) and various members of PepsiCo Law department (including the North American Contracts Center of Excellence based in Mexico). - Counsel internal business teams on a day-to-day basis on a variety of commercial issues (e.g. customer matters, contract interpretation, compliance) to help mutually resolve issues in support of the companys long-term and short term business objectives. - Liaison with internal business teams to address various business partner topics such as bankruptcy, independent bottler distribution, sales territory limitations, antitrust, compliance, and related protocols/internal procedures. - Support PBNAs ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations impacting sales operations (e.g, bottle bills, Pay to Play regulations regarding political contributions by PepsiCo and PepsiCo Executives) and engage with Public Policy and Government Affairs (PPGA) on issues as they arise within the jurisdictions of the supported PBNA Division. - Develop and present trainings regarding complex legal issues, contract negotiations, and critical retail issues to internal business teams, law department colleagues and/other internal stakeholders. - Partner with other members of the Legal Department and outside counsel concerning litigation and compliance issues that arise from or impact PepsiCos field sales organization. - Provide legal guidance on various key projects as they arise within PBNA and AFH Foodservice businesses and the broader PepsiCo business.
Compensation and Benefits: - The expected compensation range for this position is between $118,700 - $198,800. - Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Qualifications - 3+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience with an emphasis on commercial litigation and/or transactions with a strong academic record. - Must be commercially-minded, service-mindset, a quick learner, and have the ability to effectively balance the provision of sound legal advice with the need for fast-paced, industry-competitive solutions. Collaborative style and proactive communication skills necessary. - Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills with exceptional business judgment. - Executive maturity for regular interaction with senior leaders. Strong strategic thinking, communication, influence and impact skills. - Strong prioriti ation, efficiency and organization skills needed to independently handle/manage/oversee workload and high volume of requests on a weekly basis. - Capability to advise internal clients at all levels of PepsiCos organization. - In-house experience with a consumer products company preferred, but not required. - Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities. - Ability to convey complex legal principles clearly and concisely. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively, with a solution-oriented approach, in teams within legal, business and functional areas. - JD degree required, must be admitted to practice in New York, Illinois, or Texas.
