Our Ecosystem Data Architecture & Solution (eDAS) group, part of AT&T’s Technology Services (ATS) organization, is responsible for designing and delivering data management practices. These practices focus on inventory control, network architecture, data delivery, data automation and Generative AI development to provide the best overall experience. Harnessing technology and rebuilding traditional solutions, the team inspires simplicity that deliver innovative features and world class services.

As Principal Engineer, you’ll lead design sessions to develop architectural and functional solutions to support testing projects prior to deployment to production. The clients are responsible for certification of features across the ecosystem to deliver quality, functionality, and services to AT&T customers. The key contributions are the results of data solutions that transform and expand automation across the entire ecosystem. Deliver technical solutions across the team to remove manual processes to shift deliverables to automated pipelines. Implement data strategies for reducing duration times while increasing reliability, scalability, and efficiency. You’ll assist with building a data foundation across networks, orchestration layers, databases, and platforms to automate processes and define Generative AI models.

Summary: Principal System Engineer

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Integrate deep technical knowledge with company experience.

  • Build productive relationships both internally and externally.

  • Collaborate with various teams, including business-oriented ones.

  • Participate in program increment (PI) and project planning, and system solution demonstrations.

  • Translate business requirements into a technical data strategy incorporating platform, network, software, cloud, and service layers.

  • Understand and leverage automation tools, technologies, and AI in Quality Assurance.

  • Review and enhance ETL processes, collaborate with developers for implementation.

  • Identify needs of downstream applications and implement data strategies.

Technical Skills:

  • Lead team across innovative technical strategies to deliver feature alignment and data strategy to align with project scope.

  • Data analysis and architectural solutions.

  • Proficiency in SQL and technical skills in microservices.

  • Experience with Angular, MuleSoft, React JS, Java, Jira, and the Scaled Agile Framework.

  • Knowledge of REST and SOAP implementing inbound and outbound API related to GET, PUT, and POST Functionality.

  • Design and implement IT and non-IT related process workflows, procedures, and technical standards.

  • Implement inbound and outbound API integrations with data management solutions.

  • Python knowledge and experience to help develop Generative AI solutions with Chatbot functionality.

  • Experience with Cassandra (CQL), Couch and Mongo distributed architecture.

  • Snowflake skill set, including data warehousing and processing.

Additional Knowledge:

  • Deliver data solutions across testing with overall knowledge of testing and architecture.

  • Experience with ordering, billing, and network applications to support provisioning, activation, and billing architectural flows to support data oversight.

  • Basic understanding Salesforce SaaS platform transformation, functionality, and overall requirements.

  • Network, Billing and Ordering functionality background would be beneficial.

  • Machine Learning knowledge would be preferable.

  • AT&T product and service knowledge is beneficial.

Our Principal System Engineering, earns between $158,200.00-$237,400.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.

Salary Range:

$141,300.00 - $237,400.00
