Shared Sponsored Projects Administrator (Pre- and Post-Award)
The Shared Sponsored Projects Administrator will provide high quality support for sponsored research to assigned departments both within the Dietrich School and in other responsibility centers as needed. Pre-award responsibilities may include budget development, coordination and preparation of non-technical proposal documents, entry and upload of proposal information into external sponsor systems and portals, preparation and submission of final proposal documents in PERIS, and logging information on submitted proposals into an internal database. Post-Award responsibilities may include monthly reconciliations of sponsored project accounts, subcontracts and service agreements, no-cost extensions, material transfer requests, budget and award modification requests, salary and non-salary expense transfers, completion and processing of non-competing continuations, meetings with faculty to review their accounts, verification of salary expenditures and effort reporting on sponsored projects, expense projections, and account closings. The majority of proposals and awards involve federal sponsors, and a deep understanding of federal policies such as Uniform Guidance, the NIH Grants Policy Statement, and the NSF PAPPG are essential for this position. Projects may involve human subjects, vertebrate animals, biohazardous materials, international collaboration, and other factors requiring special approvals, and as such a strong familiarity with university offices relating to research administration is equally important. The ability to prioritize effectively, work on multiple tasks at once, and maintain composure in high-stress situations are all crucial to succeed in this position.
Job Summary
Performs pre- and post-award accounting duties for complex grants and contracts. Prepares, negotiates, and monitors grants, contracts, and budgets. Maintains award-related schedules, prepares complex government applications and reports, and interprets policy and procedure. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, resolves complex issues, and reviews routine financial documents. Develops and implements accounting techniques and procedures for operational improvements and assists with managing special projects and preparing operating budgets.

Physical Effort
Position sedentary. Able to type for long periods of time (3-4 hours per day).
