The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh is ranked in the top 10 of all Doctor of Physical Therapy programs in the 2024 US News and World Report Ranking of Best Graduate Schools. We offer an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, and post-professional programs leading to a Master of Science in Physical Therapy, PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, and dual DPT-PhD in Bioengineering degrees as well as post-graduate certificates. The DPT degree is delivered in both a residential and hybrid format.

Job Summary

 

Creates and implements individually designed programs of physical therapy through evaluations, assessments, and testing in clinical or research setting to meet goals. Modifies plans upon patient response and instructs on at-home treatments. Consults with physicians and other staff regarding determination of physical therapy treatment. Maintains appropriate records of client treatment and maintains confidentiality and all other applicable regulations.

Essential Functions

This is part-time position for a Physical Therapist to work in the Physical Therapy-Clinical and Translational Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapist care for individuals, predominantly adults with musculoskeletal conditions, who are recruited for research studies. In addition, the Physical Therapist will assist in daily clinic operations such as visit documentation, data entry and scheduling of research participants.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit and stand for up to 8 hours at a time. Required to move and physically support patients during therapeutic activities, lift exercise equipment, etc. as necessary.
