Patient Services Coordinator

 

The Pitt Vaccination and Health Connection Hub is looking for a highly motivated, patient-centered, & detail-oriented person to join our team. The Hub provides access to vaccines & wellness services for all Pitt community members & the community at large. It serves as a central access point for connecting people to health care resources. It is a place where students from all six schools of the Health Sciences at Pitt can learn together about what it takes to care for a community today, & into tomorrow. A service-oriented individual with the ability to perform work efficiently and accurately is desired. Successful candidates will resolve customer questions & concerns by communicating effectively with the customer & the management team & support staff efficiently.

 

Provides administrative support for patient care including appointment scheduling & answering patient questions. Maintains accurate databases & records, ensures all forms & paperwork are completed, & supports staff with insurance billing. We are looking for people to model patient care by meeting or exceeding all patient needs. Hub team members must follow all University, state & federal policies, laws, & regulations, including HIPAA.

Job Summary

Provides administrative support services for patient care to include scheduling and confirming a large volume of appointments and surgeries via telephone, web, email, and in-person utilizing exceptional patient and customer service skills. Maintains accurate databases and records and ensures all forms and paperwork are completed and correct. Performs more advanced financial functions.

Essential Functions

Schedules a large volume of appointments & registering of patients. Completes all forms & paperwork including consultation documentation, collecting point of sale payments, & supports staff with insurance billing & claim reconciliation. Abides by all applicable regulations & requirements. Enters patient demographic & insurance information into databases; updates information & maintains all files. Responds to all communications.

 

Physical Effort

Standing, moving, ascending/descending, bending, lifting, and/or carrying.

May be required to move objects under 25 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
