Summary:
Meta is seeking a Research Scientist to join Fundamental AI Research (FAIR), a research organization focused on making significant advances in AI. Our organization is motivated by producing new science to understand intelligence and technology towards achieving advanced machine intelligence. We are seeking researchers with experience in computer vision to join the team to investigate how to build social AI that will be the foundation for a new paradigm in how we interact and use computers. You will work with a highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners and access cutting-edge technology, resources, and research facilities.

Fundamental AI Research Scientist, Computer Vision - FAIR (PhD) Responsibilities:
Conduct research in 2D/3D human motion understanding and generation.
Define, build and benchmark new capabilities needed for the next generation of social AI.
Train and optimize state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.
Contribute to and apply research that advances Meta products.
Conduct and collaborate on research projects within a globally-based team.
Minimum Qualifications:

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Experience in deep learning frameworks (such as PyTorch, TensorFlow), C, C++, Python.
Experience in training and use of diffusion models.
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at leading AI conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) or Computer Vision (CVPR, ICCV)
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Demonstrated research and software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
Experience building systems based on machine learning and/or deep learning methods.
Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
Experience in human motion understanding or generation.
Public Compensation:
$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
