Position Summary :

The Finance Systems Support Analyst will focus on being a Finance subject matter expert on finance related systems and act as a liaison with the IT department in Finance system implementations as well as support the Finance Department primarily in the areas of accounting and shared services utilizing Oracle ERP & EPM modules, MyTime, Ultipro, Maximo, and PowerPlan. You will partner with subject matter experts, have critical roles within implementation projects, drill down to the tactical action items and execute required steps. This role collaborates across Finance, IT, Business stakeholders and external vendors to provide day-to-day functional support, financial close support, financial audit support, report creation, ad hoc requests, develops and drives continuous process and system improvements.

This is a hands-on role requiring experience both in process improvement and accounting and/or information technology systems solutions. Location: Hybrid, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Responsibilities :

  • Develops a level of application systems familiarity and mastery that permits Administrator to provide skilled support for users of financial systems.

  • Stays current on the latest developments by publishers of the Finance and Accounting systems in order to provide the highest quality information to Finance and Accounting users.

  • Performs first level support of specific financial systems applications. Activities include problem investigation and resolution, solution design, application acceptance testing, reports creation and validation.

  • Provides business-side leadership in the development, testing and implementation of financial system changes and improvements in order to support Finance and Accounting processes.

  • Escalates problems or issues of greater complexity to the Enterprise Support Center (ESC) for resolution.

  • Acts as a liaison with third party vendors, Duquesne’s IT department and Finance and Accounting users.

  • Coordinates communication between all parties for effective resolution of problems, implementations, updates and timely flow of data in and out of the business systems.

  • Coordinates report development requests by analyzing the information requested and determining the best way to produce/provide data; assessing the best application/report writing tool; and prioritizing report needs.

  • Research and respond to complicated inquiries from Department personnel. Support the business in developing written documentation for software applications including business process flows and functional “How-to” documents for users.

  • Conduct software training for users as appropriate.

  • Participate and contribute as needed in finance projects related to the activities of Finance Transformation. Provide support in communicating changes of process to other affected departments.

  • Work with other functional groups, as required, to address Company-wide initiatives.

Education/Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial systems, Accounting or related discipline required.

  • Three (3+) or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office including Visio or similar tools required.

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud System, PowerPlan/Power Tax. Experience with SQL, relational databases, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Apps preferred.

Skills and Abilities Utilized in this Role Include:

  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills

  • Working knowledge of computer applications typically used by Corporate Finance and Accounting teams.

  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be effective in planning, prioritizing and meeting deadlines.

Scope:

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing one’s own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work activities are typically moderate to complex in nature, requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently.

Decision Impact:

Problems and issues faced are vague. Draws on past experience on a regular basis. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.

Hybrid Work:

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles:

All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset.
