Executive Director of Marketing and Engagement

The Executive Director of Marketing and Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh School of Business holds a pivotal role in shaping the strategic and operational landscape of marketing and communications. This leadership position entails defining, refining, and executing the school's marketing strategy to advance its gals and objectives. Collaborating closely with the Dean's Office, this role is central to identifying priority focus areas and translating them into actionable initiatives. The Executive Director leads the Pitt Business Marketing and Communications team in delivering comprehensive, multi-platform marketing, and communication plans.

Spearhead the successful launch of new degree offerings and support the growth and quality of incoming student cohorts. Enhance Pitt Business's narrative and value proposition for undergraduate and graduate programs. Elevate Pitt Business's national reputation and rankings by effective communication within the Higher Education community. Strengthen alumni connections through collaboration with Alumni and Development teams, supporting the alumni communications strategy. Charged with Branding for the school.

Job Summary

Facilitates and oversees the creative services function of an organization and directs a team of artists or other creative professionals who produce visual messages promoting the University and its products and services. Manages simultaneous, concurrent creative projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets. Develops and manages relationships with vendors or freelancers, creative personnel, and internal and external clients.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with the Dean's Office to identify strategic priorities and initiatives that align with the school's vision and objectives. Engage stakeholders across student recruitment, career services, institutional culture, research, and executive education to formulate concrete goals for various initiatives. Direct the Pitt Business Marketing and Communications team to execute dynamic marketing and communication strategies across multiple platforms. Champion undergraduate and graduate recruitment efforts, including online programs, ensuring a compelling narrative and value proposition. Strategically communicate with faculty, staff, community partners, and other stakeholders to foster strong relationships and alignment. Foster the school's reputation among peer institutions nationally and within the University of Pittsburgh network. Manage public relations activities, emphasizing breaking news, alumni involvement, community engagement, and research initiatives.

Physical Effort

The incumbent may be required to lift packages or boxes in excess of 15 pounds at times. May also travel around campus to meet with key stakeholders. Position is mainly sedentary.
