Arconic is currently in search of a Category Manager, Direct Materials to join our Procurement team, based in Pittsburgh, PA.
Job Summary: This position reports to the Senior Director, Metal procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for several assigned alloying materials used in production. This includes the management of critical supplier relationships The overall goal is to achieve the best total cost position for all external spend within the Categories, the lowest sourcing risks, and best supplier performance to ensure the highest efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement team. In this role, you will: * Direct responsibility globally for all alloying materials spend, including magnesium, silicon, zinc, copper, manganese, and other categories. * Achieve procurement savings, price plan, risk mitigation and working capital targets worldwide for assigned categories. * Develop, document, present and execute procurement strategies such as low-cost country sourcing strategies. * Maintain business relationships with representatives of strategic suppliers for the alloying materials categories. * Collaborate with other category teams and procurement functions using forums such as workshops to achieve category cost savings targets. * Lead, co-lead, or support commercial sourcing activity across all categories as required to meet company objectives (e.g. e-Auction, RfX processes) * Lead, co-lead, or support non-commercial events as required to meet objectives, including, but not limited to Kaizen workshops, working capital/inventory workshops. * Execute contract negotiations/terms and conditions with suppliers classified in categories. * The position requires travel, up to 25% of the time.
Qualifications You have: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited Institution. * 4 years of experience in purchasing management. * Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of Hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Exceptional Candidates also have: * Prior experience in alloy purchasing within the metals industry. * MBA in Business Administration/Economics or similar * Experience in international purchasing management * 5 years experience in purchasing management * Innovative, Strategic thinker * Customer-oriented with business acumen * Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
This position is subject to Export Control Law
