POSITION PURPOSE: Provides administrative duties supporting Working Control and Safety & Health Departments. Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicates with customers, employees, and others to answer questions, and explain information. Operates office machinery, including photocopiers, scanners, telephones and computers. Maintains and updates filing and database systems. Handles incoming and outgoing office correspondence. Assigns and responds to work requests. Organizes and schedules preventive maintenance work orders. Print-out for scheduling all contractual "move" work orders. Review closed work orders for completeness and status properly. Scans all work orders and sends to Document Control. Pulls all work orders on the T1 Schedule and distributes to supervisors. Develops Weekly Headliner articles Provides administrative support to Activity Hazard Analyses changes and updates to ensure that work control documents comply with hazard evaluation and controls requirements. Generate ISMS documents in preparation for DOE audits Distribute information to supervisors concerning daily safety topics Develop All Hands Meeting Materials and present safety topics during the meetings Provide Substance Abuse training to all workers and supervisors Participate in work control quality assessments, as necessary. Be a contributing member of the WIN, VPP and ISMS committees. Develop monthly safety statistics reports to meet internal and external requirements. Maintain a safe working environment. Demonstrate awareness and implementation of applicable environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) requirements while also alerting co-workers of such requirements as needed. Demonstrate the ability to get along with co-workers, customers and visitors. Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality. Perform other duties as assigned. Safety Responsibilities: Keep work area in order and free of hazards. Perform work within the controls identified and stop work when an unsafe work condition exists. Participate in safety programs and initiatives. Report all injuries. Participate in work planning so that hazards are identified and appropriate corrective actions are taken. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Skills and Abilities: Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals. Must have strong communication skills; ability to interact productively with supervisors and peers. Mathematics Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts with reasonable speed and accuracy. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables. Other Skills/Abilities Professional phone skills are required. Ability to operate office copier, telephone, fax and computer are required.
