The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions (http://www.gcu.edu/College-of-Nursing-and-Health-Care-Professions.php) is seeking a full-time APRN and Health Sciences Simulation Operations Coordinator to oversee the operations of our state-of-the-art Simulation Center. What you will do:

• Coordinates and maintains the day-to-day operations of the lab for use by all students and faculty.

• Ensures preparation of lab supplies and equipment based on lab faculty requirements for schedule courses.

• Collaborates with the Simulation Operations Manager in the recruitment, development, and training of the simulation standardized patient program.

• Assist with revising and maintaining operational policies for the simulation center to ensure protocols are in place to meet accreditation purposes; recommend any changes in operational procedures/guidelines to nursing management.

• Performs routine repairs of equipment; initiates and coordinates repair/replacement of broken equipment and any regular maintenance requirement by vendor.

• Performs and oversees the general cleaning in the lab and oversees the collection and disposal of waste materials according to regulations.

• Other duties as assigned.

What you need:

• Must have granted diploma or certification relative to background experience (e.g., medical assistant diploma)

• Experience in patient simulators and medical equipment, working with healthcare simulation modalities used in training programs, and managing and motivating learners, technical staff, and colleagues.

• Must be able to work occasional weekends and/or evenings as needed.

• One or more years of experience developing and running immersive simulation scenarios.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

Bonus:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, health care field

• Unencumbered Arizona LPN or RN Licensure or Arizona Certification, if applicable.

• Certification through the Society of Simulation in Healthcare

• Three or more years of patient care experience as a Paramedic, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Simulation Technician.
