Summary:
- Provides leadership and mentoring to the Physical Plant Supervisors as it relates to the operation of the Hospital's infrastructure, building equipment, utilities, general maintenance and in-house renovation projects, ensuring all staff provide a safe and comfortable environment for the Hospital's staff, patients and visitors.
Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory standards and requirements, including but not limited to TJC, Department of Health, funding agencies, FDA, HIPAA and others.
Oversight and maintenance of all critical facility needs, ensuring appropriate follow-up of major issues and the implementation of facility correction plans as indicated in planning or as a result of inspections and/or surveys as well as monitors the Preventive Maintenance Programs. Attends EOC and other assigned committees and participates in EOC inspections and timely assesses and follows up with the required maintenance and repairs. Timely submits and follows up with all incident reports.
Directs Physical Plant Supervisors and Staff for the purpose of building productive results and relationships. Ensure that Staff are appropriately trained in equipment and procedures so as to ensure that work is performed efficiently, effectively and safely. Ensures adherence to the Local 835 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Assists the Assistant Hospital Director in developing programs, services and initiatives for existing facilities as well as new construction
Evaluates the need for outside contractors and participates in the negotiation of contracts ensuring adherence to the Hospital and Departmental Purchasing Policies as well as ensuring that all service standards are met.
Provides input and monitors the department’s operating, personnel and capital budgets
Customer satisfaction is regularly assessed, action plans developed to close gaps and improvement plans are implemented.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
Education Specialization: Engineering Equivalent Experience: Or 10+ years with Experience in a facilities department preferably in a hospital/medical setting •8+ years Supervisor/Leadership responsibility experience. Preferably in a union environment.
