The work location is in Pepper Pike, Oh. * *Job Description: Direct Support Professional The goal of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to assist in increasing the individual's independence within his/her home or community. The DSP should perform daily tasks that assist the individual with daily living needs and is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of the individuals we serve. These tasks include, but are not limited to: a. Basic supervision, i.e. assessing, monitoring, and supervising the individual to ensure the individual's safety, health, and welfare b. Eating, i.e. preparing meals, preparing food to be eaten, assistance with eating, etc. c. Household services, i.e. cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. d. Personal hygiene, i.e. bathing, grooming, hair care, oral care, etc. e. Dressing, i.e. assistance putting on or taking off clothes f. Bathroom assistance, i.e. assistance with changes, bladder and bowel requirements g. Medication administration: i.e. administering or assisting with medication (requires certification) h. Transfer, i.e. assistance in and out of wheelchairs for daily activities, etc. i. Ambulatory needs, i.e. assistance moving around the residence and community j. Transportation, i.e. provide transportation into the community for activities, shopping, and medical appointments k. Individual Service Plan (ISP) services, i.e. provide tasks and services according to the ISP l. Documentation, i.e. keep documentation logs for ISP services, medication administration, activity logs, fund ledgers, and transportation, etc. m. Properly clock in / out for all shifts n. Complete documentation for all HPC questions in MITC prior to leaving your shift o. Review previous entries and complete entries in the communication log on each shift p. Report any unusual incidents to Team Lead / House Manager immediately q. Turn in any Employee of the Month nominations * Employee Requirements:* a. MCA has a basic standard for all requirements of the job b. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent c. Must be 18 years of age or older d. Criminal background check (provided) e. Certification in CPR/First Aid (training provided) f. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license / Ohio vehicle insurance coverage Reports to the Community Lifestyles Coordinator Currently all three shifts are available to choose from with 7 day a week availability.
