KBR UH-1Y Aircrewman in Patuxent River, Maryland

UH-1Y Aircrewman

KBR Is seeking a UH-1Y Aircrewman to join our team. As part of the world’s largest independent flight test organization supporting both US Government and Commercial Agencies, joining a highly talented and experienced KBR aircrew services team that has provided over 40 continuous years of Aircrew project support at Patuxent River. As a long-term incumbent and leader in flight test, the selected applicant will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government, military, contractor and industry personnel while supporting flight test.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Supports HX-21 Developmental Test and Evaluation at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), NAS Patuxent River, MD.

  • Performs the duties of a UH-1Y Test Aircrewman and Operations Scheduler.

  • Supports a wide range of NAWCAD test and evaluation requirements to include test planning meetings, ground/flight event scheduling, test procedure and card development, flight briefings, test execution in AH-1Z and UH-1Y aircraft, and post event support.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED ; bachelor's degree or currently enrolled and working toward bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • U.S. Naval aircrew graduate or equivalent required.

  • Minimum three (3) years of rotary wing RDT&E flight experience and familiar with rotary wing T&E techniques, concepts, principles, and practices required ; Test experience must be within the last three (3) years.

  • Minimum of 1,000 hours of experience as an aircrewman and 500 hours in the H-1 aircraft required; UH-1Y aircraft preferred; Aircraft qualifications must be with the last three (3) years.

  • Documented qualification/previous experience with Crew Served Weapons Systems (GAU-17, GAU-21, and M240) is required.

  • Previous experience with scheduling of ground and flight events using the Flight Information Scheduling and Tracking (FIST) application or equivalent scheduling tool is required.

  • Candidate must be able to pass the physical and training qualification requirements to provide contract aircrew support, including completion of Navy water survival and aviation physiology training, as well as annual FAA Class II flight physical.

  • Documented qualification/previous experience as a Communications Security (COMSEC) Authorized User desired

  • Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Travel, sometimes extensive, will be required to support this position.

  • An active Secret level security clearance is required.
