What You’ll Do:

Want to be part of our Global Dynamic Data Engineering Team? A Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and managing data systems that support the collection, storage, and processing of large datasets. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining data pipelines, integrating data from various sources, designing data models, and optimizing databases. They also handle ETL processes, performance tuning, and automation to ensure efficient data flow. Data Engineers collaborate with other teams to support analytics, maintain data quality and security, and manage cloud infrastructure. Additionally, they troubleshoot issues and create documentation to ensure smooth operations and best practices.

You will report to the Manager, Data Engineering and play a critical role in enabling the business to build self-serve dashboards. This will involve delivering actionable insights tailored to specific business needs, with a focus on timely, optimized, and impactful data solutions.

During a Typical Day, You’ll

· Participate in team or project meetings to discuss ongoing tasks, challenges, and priorities for the day.

· Check the status of data pipelines, ensuring that data is flowing correctly and there are no issues or failures. If any errors are detected, they may need to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

· Work on creating or improving data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and storage. This involves writing or optimizing code for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).

· Integrate new data sources into existing pipelines, transforming raw data into clean, usable formats. This may involve writing scripts to collect data from APIs, databases, or third-party services.

· Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, or business teams to understand their data needs and ensure the infrastructure supports their requirements for analysis and reporting.

· Review the performance of data systems and queries. They may work on optimizing query speeds, reducing data storage costs, or improving pipeline efficiency.

· Ensure the Google Cloud infrastructure is running smoothly, scaling as needed, and that systems are cost-effective.

· Implement scripts or automation tools to improve data processing and reporting workflows, reducing manual work and increasing efficiency.

· Respond to any data issues or tickets submitted by internal teams. This could involve investigating and fixing bugs in pipelines or addressing data inconsistencies.

What You Bring to the Role

· Hands on experience with SQL and understanding of Big Query, as well as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) capabilities and limitations

· 1-3 years of experience in data engineering or similar role

· Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle/DB2/Teradata/ProstgreSQL/SQL Server/MySQL

· Proven motivational skills with a passion for excellence and constant desire to improve processes

• Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, SSIS, or similar for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
