Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description
This role is for the Specialty Pharmacy within the Children's Hospital, serving the pediatric demographic within the hospital and supporting the local pediatric clinics as well. The Pharmacy Technician must be reliable with a drive to develop their skills and learn.
Responsibilities
Maintain records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders of Physicians.
Sort, stock, and label medications while monitoring inventory.
Respond to requests from patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions, and referring various inquiries to the Pharmacist.
Comply with rules, regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is accurate and complete using EPIC.
Assist the Outpatient department in filling prescriptions if they are overloaded, if able.
Essential Skills
Pharmacy Technician License
At least one year of retail pharmacy experience
Experience with pharmacy software (EPIC)
Strong work ethic and reliability
Data entry skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior authorization experience
Non-sterile compounding
Oral solution preparation
Experience in a specialty pharmacy setting preferred, especially pediatric
Work Environment
The work environment includes approximately 5 pharmacy technicians per shift. Shifts are Monday to Friday with no weekends, and shift start times may vary from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. The role offers an opportunity to work within a hospital setting with a potential for full-time employment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
