Prep Cook/Food Runner Pahrump Nugget, Gold Town & Lakeside (Pahrump, NV)

Description:

Summary:

Responsible for preparing a variety of food items, cleaning kitchen and other areas and maintaining inventory rotation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Cook all food according to predetermined menu specifications and guidelines

• Portioning of all food according to predetermined weight specifications and portion sizes in order to maintain cost controls

• Operating all necessary food preparation equipment including fryers, broilers, slicers, pizza ovens and grill

• Proper rotation of all perishable food items and adherence to FIFO standards

• Responsible for the upkeep of hot and cold foods and refills menu items when the supply runs low

• Set up and break down cook's station, stirring, watching temperatures, preparing vegetables, etc.

• Knowledge and familiarity of entire kitchen operation

• Maintains clean orderly work place

• Prepare for a rush period, so as to work without getting behind

• Adhere to Company sanitation standards

• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff

• Pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and serving people

• Maintain company and health sanitation requirements at all times

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Able to interact with others in a professional and courteous manner

• Ability to functionally communicate occupational-based English, both written and verbal

• Ability to perform basic math

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels

• Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 200 lbs.

• Frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, and kneel

• Constant walking, standing, distinguishing between tastes and shades of color, and use of hearing and vision

Work Environment Potential Conditions

• Indoor

• Extreme hot and cold temperatures, including humidity

• Slippery surfaces, chemical agents, and exposure to dust, fumes and/or gases
