Provide overall direction, management, supervision, and technical support to contract administration personnel on bridge/highway construction projects. Administer assigned construction projects by accomplishing required construction engineering and contract administration duties, including supervising assigned MnDOT employees.

Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for Engineer Senior, applicants must meet all the following:
Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
A valid Class D driver’s license is required.
If advanced to the finalist pool, you will be assessed on the following criteria during a job interview:
· Human relations skills that demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with the public, businesses, elected officials and other governmental entities.
· Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing sufficient to give direction, provide complex technical information, negotiate change orders, facilitate meetings, make public presentations, and answer project specific and policy questions.
· Supervisory or leadwork experience skills sufficient to ensure construction projects are completed in a timely manner.
· Knowledge and experience in materials, road/bridge contract administration and general construction practices.
· Experience negotiating with contractors and writing change orders.
Preferred Qualifications
· Knowledge of MnDOT project plans and special provision processes.
