The role you’ll contribute:

The Director of Security Operations oversees Security Operations in the Northeast, Southwest, or Central Regional

Markets. The Director of Security Operations ensures campus security procedures and initiatives align with the goals and

objectives of System Security throughout each Regional Market. Primary responsibilities include coordinating Regional

Security Operations with System Security Training, Communications, Technology, and Investigations divisions. planning,

development, monitoring, and coordination of Security activities. Responsible for implementation of Security policies and

procedures, response to emergent situations, and performing Security Risk Assessments. Partners with local law

enforcement and other public agencies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in

maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

•Directs and oversees the Security Department's Operations within hospitals and/or properties within one of Regional Markets.

•Ensures synchronization and alignment with System Security operations, goals and objectives.

•Coordinates Regional Security Operations with System Security Training, Communications, Technology, and Investigations divisions.

•Assists the Senior Director of Security with oversight and direction of the Regional Market's Security Management System.

•Prepares and reviews reports as required to analyze security activity, and identify trends.

•Develops and maintains metrics and measurements related to Security Department operational efficiency and quality control.

COMPLIANCE/REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITY:

•Ensures Security Department compliance with the organization's policies and procedures, as well as, DNV, federal, state and local statutes, and regulations.

•Participates in the System Security Safe Environment committee (SSEC) and may serve as Chair to one of the subcommittees.

•Performs annual security audits, and risk assessments.

•Interprets security policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with matters such as the wearing of ID badges, issuing of parking violations, and performing internal investigations.

•Works closely with the Risk Management Department and Human Resources to document, investigate and develop plans to prevent or minimize incidents that expose the hospital system to liability.

OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

•Prepares budgets, controls expenditures, and establishes operational standards.

•Provides detailed justification and develops key performance indicators to advance capital and operational security objectives.

STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY:

•Works with Regional Campus Leadership and the Director of Security Operations to prepare long and short term strategic goals by aligning resources within the scope and vision of the Regional Market's Security Management System.

•Identifies and implements strategies related to financial performance and productivity to produce the best possible return on investment of security resources.

•Provides input for new and ongoing projects, including provision of advice on architectures, security controls, and interpretation of best practices and security requirements.

PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:

•Ensures standardization of Security Operations are achieved and sustained through maintenance of monthly Campus and Employee scorecards.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITY:

•Maintains relationships with each local Law Enforcement agency within the assigned Region.

STAFFING/LABOR/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

•Supervises campus Security Operations Managers and/or Site Security Supervisors as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

•Strong organization skills

•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

•Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff

•Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel

•Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals

•Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports, and documents.

•Reasoning ability: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop alternative solutions.

•Ability to conduct threat assessment and evaluate security risk.

•Compliance with maintaining confidentiality, particularly with matters involving patient and employee privacy.

•Ability to compile, review and summarize federal, state and local laws, and regulations that affect the safe and secure operation of AdventHealth.

•Ability to develop budgets at the department level.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

•Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.

•Intermediate computer skills with the ability to operate security based software, and physical security systems (including, but not limited to CCTV, access control, duress alarms, etc.).

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•Bachelor's degree in business administration or relevant field (Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Information Systems, etc).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•A minimum of 5 years of Security Management experience in the healthcare industry at a Manager level or above.

•A minimum of 7 years of experience managing Security responsibilities within Hospital Incident Command System (HICS).

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

•Graduate level degree in business administration or relevant field (Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, etc).

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

•Experience as a Certified Trainer or Instructor in the fields of security, law enforcement, military, or emergency management.

•Previous experience working in law enforcement, military, or emergency management.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

•State of Florida Class E driver's license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy

•Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) with the International Association for Hospital Security Safety (IAHSS)

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

•ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), and/or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI)

•Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ICS-300 Certification
