Shop Carpenter

Job Description

Perform operations to produce production of cabinets. Assemble parts and sub-assemblies with hand or power tools and work at different workstations as product needs require.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the assembly process by reading and understanding set-up sheets/work orders.

• Insert or position materials, clamp, splice, fit parts and use both hand and saws.

• Ensure that assembled items meet specific quality and specifications by measuring and marking materials.

• Perform quality checks on materials for defects or damages.

• Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.

Essential Skills

• Carpentry - 2+ years

• Carpentry Assembly - 2+ years

• Hand Tools - 2+ years

• Blueprint reading

• Saw operation

• Nail gun

• Chop saw

• Table saw

• Router

• Tape measure

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with tape measure

• Previous experience in construction/woodworking environment with a variety of hand and power tools to cut, saw, staple and nail gun

Work Environment

Work is in a warehouse setting and may be performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust. Clear, close vision is required for reading and computer work, measurements, assembly of parts, and visual acuity to operate power tools. Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers is expected. The job may require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist. Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., push/pull up to 70 lbs., grasp, talk, hear, and stand/walk for prolonged periods. Dress code includes closed-toed shoes, jeans, and a work shirt. The shift is Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
