Position Description

Primary Purpose: The Roustabout is responsible for performing tasks associated with manufacturing amine treating, glycol dehydration, and natural gas stabilization skid-mounted equipment. Also, this position is responsible for supporting operations including repairing, maintaining, and transporting equipment and parts as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works safely and conscientiously to ensure personal safety and the safety of fellow crew members

  • Works under the direct supervision of the Roustabout Supervisor to carry out all assigned job duties

  • Train and possible relief assignments for more specific operations and maintenance positions with increasing experience

  • Assist senior-level employees with general activities

  • Assist senior-level employees in performing specific tasks related to the efficient fabrication of equipment

  • Assist in the fabrication of piping and structural steel for the building of amine and dehy units

  • Assist in the operation of the CNC/plasma table

  • Install and repair piping, valves, pumps, and motors

  • Provide support for welders and pipefitters as needed

  • Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment

  • Reports any irregularities or safety hazards to the supervisor

  • Perform general groundwork around the facility as needed

  • Keeps facilities and tools clean and organized

    Position Requirements

    Education:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent

    Experience / Specific Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of P&IDs and piping installation

  • Familiarity with waste minimization practices

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Prior experience as a laborer working with various tools and equipment

  • Train with shop personnel to develop a working knowledge of amine treating, glycol dehydration, and natural gas stabilization skid-mounted equipment

    Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Must be able to work overtime with little or no advance notice

  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Strong safety and environmental awareness are necessary

  • Ability to work with a team, take directions from supervisors, keep required work schedule, and follow company policies and procedures

  • Ability to perform work with minimal or no supervision

  • Must be proficient with hand and power tools and heavy equipment

    Working conditions:

  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions

  • Overtime is anticipated

  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, stand, climb, and lift up to 70 lbs. for extended periods

  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical agility and manual dexterity

    Preferred Experience, ABOVE minumum requirements but advantageous to the position:

  • 1 or more years of fabrication or plant experience

  • General awareness of water quality testing and maintenance

  • Certified to operate light cranes and/or forklifts

  • Class A CDL
