Position Description

Kinder Morgan Treating is a leading manufacturer and the largest provider of contract-operated natural gas treating plants in the United States. We design and build treating and processing plants to ensure that natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons conform to sales pipeline specifications and downstream markets.

The Manager - Operations will oversee our gas-treating equipment fabrication facility’s day-to-day operations and fabrication activities. This position requires a strategic leader with a strong background in gas-treating equipment fabrication, supply chain management, team leadership, and final product delivery.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • The Manager - Operations reports to the Director - Operations and will ensure the team completes all fabrication projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality control team members to meet project requirements.

  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Deliver superior site health, safety, and environmental performance every day.

  • Use your advanced leadership abilities and equipment fabrication experience to safely and efficiently fabricate high-quality gas processing vessels and other equipment to deliver to our clients.

  • Manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, make sound decisions, and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize workload, drive continuous improvement, and increase productivity while adhering to all safety standards and requirements.

  • Drive the work processes and standards to ensure the highest production productivity.

  • Maintain current working knowledge of regulatory and company operating requirements and coordinate activities with regulatory agencies, other company departments, and customers.

  • Direct the fabrication team’s performance to meet or exceed all safety, budgetary, and efficiency goals and commitments and ensure alignment with corporate objectives, including Kinder Morgan’s Operational Excellence initiative.

  • Ensure alignment with the corporate, business unit, region, and division goals and objectives.

  • Develop and steward manager/employee development to change staffing needs for operations.

  • Prepare and maintain various reports, records, and other documents concerning maintenance and operations issues, expense management, safety & regulatory compliance, and employee administrative issues.

  • Promote and steward division operations & maintenance budgets. Oversees and administers approved budgets

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

    Position Requirements

    Education:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, is preferred

    Certifications/Licenses:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers

    Skills, Experience, Knowledge:

  • Bi-lingual

  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience (including Manufacturing Leadership experience)

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience/knowledge in the gas-treating equipment fabrication (amine treating, glycol dehydration, natural gas stabilization) industry

  • Ability to lead and manage people in maintaining, changing, and improving performance in the areas of safety, operational excellence, and risk reduction

  • Ability to effectively communicate using both oral and written forms of communication to internal and external parties

    Working Conditions:

  • The regular work environment is typically in fabrication shops and offices.

  • A typical work week is 40 – 50 hr/week.

  • Work inside an office and outside in the fabrication shops.

    Preferred Skills, Experience, Knowledge:

  • MS Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Oral & Written Communication Skills

  • Knowledge of pipe, valves, and fittings, as well as equipment used in amine treating, glycol dehydration, and natural gas stabilization equipment

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including waste minimization practices
