Job Title: Lathe Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lathe Machinist for both 1st and 2nd shifts. You will machine details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints to exact dimensions and work with various shapes and materials. Our production focuses on hot runners for the plastic injection industry, using materials such as steel, copper, and nickel.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints
Utilize measuring tools effectively
Sharpen cutting tools
Perform own set-ups
Download and alter programs as necessary
Machine materials to print specifications
Operate overhead crane
Essential Skills
3 years of experience with 3 axis lathe
Ability to read blueprints
Proficiency in using digital micrometers and calipers
Experience with editing Haas/Fanuc controls for programming
Familiarity with G&M code editing

Work Environment
Our shop, built in 2019, is clean and well-maintained. The facility includes multiple cafes and a workout room for employees. We operate on a 56-hour work week with 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm (extending to 5:30pm when busy) and 2nd shift from 7pm to 3:30am (extending to 5:30am when busy). Additionally, we work 6 hours on Saturdays, from 7am to 1pm for the 1st shift and 2pm to 8pm for the 2nd shift. Employees on the 2nd shift receive a 10% shift premium.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Park
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
