News Corp Australia Senior Commercial Finance Analyst in NSW, Australia

What’s the role?

The Commercial Content division includes external Agencies (Medium Rare, Suddenly, Visual Domain), in-house agencies (Roller) and publications (Stockhead, NewsPerform and Ed Media). The division expects to see 15% revenue growth in FY25 and this initiative is the next in market testing and establishment to continue the impressive growth.

This role will have responsibility for providing financially-driven insights and recommendations to support this new business project. Working with a Senior Executive and a small group of SMEs, this role will develop and own the commercial and financial models, work on the financial set up and tracking of the initiative, and be involved in client pitches as needed. The role will be supported by the GM Finance for Commercial Content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial modelling – build financial models and synthesise the outputs to communicate to clients and internal stakeholders

  • Financial set up – establish reporting framework to provide regular updates to Executives on performance of the initiative

  • Forecasts & reporting – develop forecasts to track performance and remain within business guardrails

  • Competitive analysis – provide insights and benchmarks to inform strategic planning and business development

  • Business casing – work on the business case for the next stage of funding

  • Contracts – review and advise on contracts from a commercial lens

  • Cross functional collaboration – work closely with sales, marketing, NCA finance teams (incl specialist accounting and tax functions) for specialist advice as needed

Who are you?

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and budget analysis

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build and maintain trusted relationships.

  • Experience performing similar duties for a retail business will be highly regarded
