ABOUT THE HOTEL

The Sheraton Nouakchott Hotel will be the first internationally-branded hotel in the Mauritanian capital. The hotel featuring 174 guest rooms and 26 suites will be located in the central business district of Nouakchott, just four kilometres from the international airport. The modern hotel is designed with Mauritanian-style architecture and features an all-day dining restaurant and a specialty restaurant, a bar, an outdoor pool as well as more than 1,500 square metres of meeting space.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The ideal candidate for this position has extensive experience as a Director of Operations position and is fluent in French and English. Ideally the candidate has prior experience in leading a hotel opening or major renovation/conversion. You will be the property’s strategic business leader of the property's Hotel Operations. You will work with your direct reports (department heads) to develop and implement departmental strategies and ensure implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. You ensure the Hotel Operations meet the brand’s standards, targets customer needs, ensures employee satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues and maximizes the financial performance of the department and developing positive owner relations. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and employees and provides a return on investment.

• Graduate from an accredited university in Business Administration Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major; 4 years experience in the guest services, front desk housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations or related professional area

• Leading Operations and Department Teams to champion the brand’s service vision for product and service delivery and ensures alignment amongst the hotels leadership teams.

• Managing the Guest Experience

• Facilitating the development of creative solutions to overcome obstacles and ensure implementation to continually improve guest satisfaction results.

• Managing profitability by demonstrating and communicating key drivers of guest satisfaction for the brand’s target customer.

• Managing Revenue Goals by monitoring hotel operations sales performance against budget
