Sartorius Instrument Engineer in Nottingham, United Kingdom

We are looking for an Instrument Engineer to join our team in Nottingham. You will have a HNC/HND in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or relevant engineering background and experience in instrumentation.

We are looking for an Instrument Engineer for the Engineering department at Sartorius Albumedix Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for calibrating and maintaining cGMP Process Critical Instruments.

You will be working Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am – 5pm, though you will be required to be on call between 3 and 4 times per month to support 24/7 production facility.

The team consists of 5 professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.

This position is available for full-time. It is an onsite role in central Nottingham and the site is easy to get to, being a short walk from the train station and tram stop.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities

  • On a daily basis you will carry out calibration, fault find and attending to breakdowns in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GEP (Good Engineering Practice)

  • You will calibrate instruments such as temperature, flow, pressure, level, dissolved oxygen, PH, Conductivity and UV on site

  • You will be trained on bespoke SOP’s giving guidance on systems in place

  • All work carried out on plant will be recorded on the computer – based maintenance system

  • You will provide technical support to Engineering projects and capital investment projects, and work closely with the management team to support the management of the site and keeping equipment history files up to date

  • You will need to provide out of hours emergency callout support as per engineering callout rota

  • Ensure safe working environment, report near misses and follow cGMP at all times

  • Provide non – routine support to other engineering disciplines as where required

  • Liaise with engineering and other departments in a timely manner

What will convince us

  • HNC/HND in Instrumentation and Control Engineering (not compulsory) or relevant engineering background and experience in instrumentation

  • Ideally experience in the pharmaceutical industry following GMP regulations, though candidates from other industries i.e.: medical, food, drink, petrochemical, oil and gas would also be considered

  • Ability to perform manual handling (lifting), working at height, restricted access, and confined spaces

  • Strong communications skills and the ability to liaise with other departments

  • Ability to follow correct procedures and quality regulations

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise daily tasks

  • Attention to detail and meeting deadlines effectively

  • Team player
