CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Evaluates equipment and services, with input from physicians and staff, for cost-effectiveness and operating efficiency. Makes recommendations for the purchase of equipment and implementation of new services. Oversees the proper maintenance of financial, statistical, and personnel records. Supervises the preparation of internal financial statistical reports. Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians and other leaders to gather and exchange information, develop and implement solutions to problems, and initiate new programs. Communicates with various outside professionals and sales groups to obtain and exchange information related to the radiology department. Establishes long-range goals and objectives and engages in strategic planning. Interviews, hires, terminates, counsels, and evaluates subordinate personnel. Ensures compliance with all accrediting and regulatory standards. Develops and maintains financial aspects of the department. Prepares and secures necessary approval and manages operational and capital budgets. Coordinates the purchase of supplies, minor or capital equipment, and invoice payment for radiology services. Collaborates with the radiology staff and intra-departmental leaders to ensure the needs of patients are met. Monitors the ongoing financial performance of the department and takes appropriate corrective action to achieve financial goals. Promotes a culture of customer service excellence to encourage quality care and services, enhance the image of the department and institution and promote staff retention. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
