The starting pay range for this position is $17.81 - $23.39 per hour
Earn up to a $5000 Winter Maintenance Incentive
Half paid at the beginning of the November 2024 winter plowing season and the remainder paid at the end of the season March 2025

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highway Maintenance, District 6 has a full-time vacancy for a Highway Maintainer III.
Summary:
Performs skilled year-round highway maintenance activities involving the operation and servicing of complex heavy equipment and machinery used for highway maintenance, construction activities, and for emergency traffic services. Supervises and reviews the work of entry level personnel and small work crews performing tasks or projects for the NH State Highway System.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS
: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency credential.
Experience: Two years of experience in the operation of motorized highway equipment.Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education, up to a total of two (2) years.
License/Certification: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A (CDL-A) with appropriate tank endorsement. The applicants Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the Department of Transportation.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
As of June 23, 2020, offers of employment are conditional upon the individual obtaining a Commercial Drivers License medical card unless the candidate is currently employed by the State of New Hampshire.
Must receive a negative result on a pre-employment urinalysis drug screen in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations and US DOT requirements.
Must be able to lift/carry material weighing up to 50 lbs. on an intermittent basis.
Must have a telephone or acceptable means of communication and be available 24 hours per day.
All accountabilities must be conducted in full conformance with all risk management, safety, and environmental standards, regulations, and administrative orders.
