DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for conducting technical reviews of permit applications, engaging in consultation, and performing inspections and compliance activities related to the Dam Safety and Encroachment Act, as well as Chapters 105, 106, and 102 within the Southeast Region. Additionally, you will serve as an engineering professional within the Dams and Waterways Section of the Waterways and Wetlands Program, focusing on hydrology and hydraulics to support the implementation of statewide waterway and floodplain management programs as required by the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act, the Clean Streams Law, and the Flood Plain Management Act. A secondary aspect of this role involves executing independent engineering tasks in hydrology and hydraulics to facilitate statewide initiatives on NPDES Stormwater Construction Permitting, Erosion and Sedimentation Control, and Post Construction Stormwater Management, in accordance with the Clean Streams Law and relevant regulations, including Chapters 102 and 93. Furthermore, you will provide technical assistance for compliance and enforcement related to the Dam Safety and Encroachment Act and the aforementioned chapters.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,678 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (commonwealth title); or Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid driver's license. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
