Job Summary:
Accountable for managing the operations of distribution center in accordance with established business practices as mandated by the agency’s policies, procedures, and budget projections in an assistant role. Serves as a key holder in support of the distribution management team. Supervise, manage, and coordinate the activities of production and sorting for a Distribution Center that supports a network of retail stores engaged in the selling of donated goods. Supervise distribution center team member’s workload to ensure operational standards are met.
Essential Functions:
Open the distribution center as key holder/supervisor on duty
Supervise all distribution center team members, as applicable, during assigned shift to ensure operational standards are met
Develop, train, coach and support distribution center team members for career growth within the organization
Comply with agency policies and Donated Goods Retail standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the agency’s safety and security policies and procedures
Assist team members with complaint resolution, and communicate complaints and issues to management team
Maintain proficiency for tasks required in all workstations
Perform and assist in all functions completed by Distribution Center team
Support the Distribution Manager with maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse by inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair, and requisitions for replacement
Track and report Distribution Center incoming and outgoing sorted/unsorted donations
Support in maintaining all company records and reports accurately and in a timely manner
Attend all meetings and training as required by the agency
Monitor and maintain overall distribution center appearance and housekeeping to agency standards
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of one (1) year experience overseeing distribution center functions, preferred
Intermediate and proven knowledge with Microsoft Office
Effective interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to demonstrate sound judgement
Working Environment Conditions/Requirements:
Must start employment in acceptable safety work shoes
Must be able to work in all types of conditions including heat, cold and dust
Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform the duties of the position including the ability to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time as well as the ability to push, pull and lift up to 30lbs with or without accommodation.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
