Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

As an Assembler, you will read and interpret blueprints and build sheets to assemble parts on weldments. You will utilize your mechanical ability, work instructions, and hand tools to assemble products, as well as test equipment when necessary. The role involves operation of overhead cranes and lifting devices, material handling and transportation of products, performing quality inspections, filling out necessary paperwork for record-keeping, and packaging and crating assembled products for shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and build sheets to assemble parts on weldments

  • Utilize mechanical ability, work instructions, and hand tools to assemble products

  • Use test equipment when necessary

  • Operate overhead cranes and lifting devices

  • Handle and transport material and products

  • Perform quality inspections and complete necessary paperwork

  • Package and crate assembled products and load for shipment

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of consistent manufacturing/production experience (2-3 years preferred)

  • Mechanical aptitude (hand/power tools, reading a tape measure)

  • Blueprint/work instruction interpretation

  • Maintains a pattern of regular and predictable attendance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced work environment

  • Interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees in a team environment

  • Preferred: Material handling experience with forklifts, cranes, carts, etc.

Work Environment

Our Client manufactures industrial air filtration units for large facilities and heavy equipment. The facility is non-climate controlled but very clean, with mostly metal fabrication equipment including presses and weld areas. The work environment is non-automotive but fast-paced. The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime on weekdays and Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NICHOLASVILLE, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.07 - $20.70/hr.
