Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Associate to work in the Toosizadeh Lab in the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences.The Post Doctoral Associate will work on translational projects at the intersection of biomechanics, exergaming, and mobile health technologies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on developing and validating smartphone and smartwatch applications aimed at improving human movement, rehabilitation, and fitness engagement.An important component of this position will be to work as part of an interdisciplinary team spanning across colleges of engineering, medicine, and science. The Post Doctoral Associate will be required to lead independent research projects, work closely with clinical collaborators, mentor students, and publish high-quality research each year.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Conduct research in the area of aging, balance, fall rehabilitation, app development, and biomechanics.
  • Data Post-processing
  • Programming using MATLAB, Python, and Java/Kotlin (for Android)
  • Publish journal articles.
  • Presentation of research at national and international conferences.
  • Supervise undergraduate students.
  • Supervise graduate students.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • PhD in biomechanics, kinesiology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with motion analysis, wearable sensors, or signal processing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or Java/Kotlin (for Android).
  • Passion for innovation in digital health, fitness, and rehabilitation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in game development, UX/UI design, or mobile app development is a plus.
