We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to drive the security vision and strategy for our global organization, overseeing the protection of our employees, assets, and operations across multiple regions. This senior leadership role will focus on developing and implementing comprehensive security policies, risk mitigation strategies, and crisis management protocols while ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards. The role requires strong leadership, crisis management, operational security expertise, and collaboration with key stakeholders across the business and external partners to effectively drive security excellence while making a significant impact on the organization’s success.

Security Strategy Development & Team Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive global security strategy, aligning with business objectives to ensure employee safety, asset protection, and operational continuity

  • Advise executive leadership on security risks and priorities, providing recommendations on security investments and strategies

  • Build and foster a culture of security awareness and resilience across the organization

  • Manage global security budget to drive strategic investment choices for the function

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global security team, ensuring team members are well-trained and prepared for emerging security challenges

  • Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement among global security team members

  • Set key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of security operations and identify areas for improvement

  • Develop security-related training programs for employees at all levels to foster a security-conscious culture

Crisis/Incident Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate physical, geopolitical, and operational security risks globally; bring awareness to emerging issues

  • Develop security risk mitigation plans and response strategies, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international security regulations

  • Direct teams as they carry out security audits, inspections, and the evaluation of security systems; identify vulnerabilities and gaps

  • Lead responses to critical incidents, including workplace violence, natural disasters, civil unrest, terrorist threats, and other emergencies

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., law enforcement, public safety agencies, government regulators) to ensure seamless emergency response and crisis management

  • Develop, test, and implement business continuity plans and crisis management protocols

Operational Security Leadership

  • Lead the development of security protocols for corporate offices, warehouses, manufacturing plants, retail stores, and other facilities

  • Monitor security trends and threats to anticipate emerging risks and adapt strategies accordingly

  • Create executive protection and event security protocols, including risk assessments for high-profile events and employee travel

  • Establish and maintain corporate security policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory guidelines

  • Develop and implement visitor management, ID/access credentialing, and other security-related policies and standards across the organization

Security Technology and Innovation

  • Leverage advanced security technologies (e.g., surveillance systems, data analytics, threat detection tools) to enhance security operations and intelligence gathering

  • Integrate new security technologies into daily operations to address evolving security challenges

Global Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner closely with senior executives, Legal, Human Resources, EH&S and other departments to ensure that security strategies align with broader corporate goals

  • Provide regular updates to the board and executive leadership on security matters and major incidents

  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including relevant professional organizations, private security firms, law enforcement, and governmental agencies, to share intelligence and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Position based in New York City. In office at least 3 days per week, more during Executive Leadership/Board meetings

  • At least 10-15 years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role setting strategy and overseeing global security operations

  • Security leadership experience across corporate offices, manufacturing/distribution facilities and retail stores; Consumer Goods preferred

  • Demonstrated strategic business partnership skills; strong business acumen, including understanding of business values and measures

  • Proven ability to make strategic decisions and manage high-stakes security crises, ensuring business continuity and risk mitigation

  • Cross-cultural acumen and relationships with relevant global and regional government security arms

  • Experience managing geopolitical and physical security risks in a multinational environment

  • Proven experience in leading security teams, crisis management, and overseeing the implementation of security protocols across diverse locations

  • Previous experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or military, with a strong understanding of threat management and investigation protocols

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner, influence and engage with senior executives, internal cross-functional stakeholders, employees, and external parties

  • Experience with relevant technology; technological acumen/mindset to incorporate appropriate next gen tech

  • Growth mindset

  • Ability to be in-office on a hybrid work schedule and to work flexible hours, as needed; able to travel domestically and internationally, as require

  • Project management experience with a focus on security initiatives

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $263,700.00 to $346,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
