Mott MacDonald Group Senior Project Manager - Construction management in New York, New York

The New York City PM/CM Lead is looking for a senior project manager role in Mott MacDonald responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing the successful positioning, capture, and execution of Project Management/Construction Management (PM/CM) Building Projects, throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area. The role supports business growth in alignment with strategic targets set by the Unit.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Mott MacDonald's efforts to assess, pursue, and capture major PM/CM opportunities in the New York City Metro Area. Enhance our visibility in the North American market by building on our Northeast track record and leveraging related discipline skillsets to expand Mott MacDonald's project scope.

  • Assume managerial ownership of large-scale multidisciplinary construction projects.

  • Manage and monitor budgets and schedules.

  • Serve as main point of contact for project owner on all project matters.

  • Lead all coordination efforts between owner, project management team and the contractor.

  • Assist the owner on community outreach efforts and third-party stakeholders coordination/interfacing.

  • Provide project management, and technical advisory and oversight, leading project delivery teams in terms of schedule, cost, risk, and technical progress.

  • Manage client relationships through effective delivery of technical excellence, enhancing Mott MacDonald's reputation and ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Support the project team and client with responsive and intelligent delivery, offering experienced input on program and project strategy.

  • Provide team leadership through exemplary behavior, strong leadership characteristics, innovation, collaboration, and decisive action

  • Supervise, coordinate, and direct staff to ensure compliance with contract requirements and company policies and procedures.

  • Oversee the contract delivery team during procurement, preconstruction, and construction phases, including close out.

  • Act as the focal point for client and contractor coordination in project delivery.

  • Schedule and conduct project progress meetings for construction.

  • Manage, review and process contract payments and change orders.

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

  • 12 + years of PM/CM experience.

  • Proven track record in public buildings/facilities and infrastructure work, including design-build, P3, and CM-Build delivery and alternate delivery models with public sector agencies.

  • Bachelor's Degree, business, or related field.

  • Strong relationships with key contacts with contractor organizations and state and municipal agencies and the ability to leverage those relationship into a robust sales pipeline.

  • Ability to detect key themes and trends in the marketplace, communicate them effectively across the business and drive appropriate action.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, strategic teaming, proposal strategy and negotiations.

  • Goal oriented with desire to successfully pursue, win, and deliver work.

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance.

The expected salary for this position is $148,000 - $181,000.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
