Overview

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer (PE) to join our agentic code-adjacent development team within the Development Productivity organization at Intuit. As a PE you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable distributed systems that will be used throughout the Intuit ecosystem to accelerate development productivity. You will work closely with other developers, architects, and product managers to ensure that our products deliver a world-class user experience and meet the needs of our customers, developers and their partners across Intuit!

What you'll bring

A candidate must have:

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field

● At least 10 years of experience in software development

● Previous experience integrating AI features into existing productionalized products

● Exposure to a wide array of AI Frameworks / Technologies with examples such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Ollama, GoogleCloud Vertex AI, Stable Diffusion, RAG, Github Copilot, OpenAI Operator, etc .

● Comprehensive fluency in the Go and Python programming language and ecosystems

● Basic fluency in Javascript and Java programming languages

● Extensive experience working with Kubernetes, ArgoCD and Github Actions

● A focus on delivery through empowering junior developers, providing mentorship and facilitating teamwork

An ideal candidate will have:

● Extensive experience working with Kubernetes, Jenkins and Github Actions

● Strong technical communication skills as, for example, expressed in design and architecture documents

● A background involving working closely with product partners to refine requirements and guide strategy

● Familiarity with the AWS cloud computing platform

● Proficiency with building REST, GraphQL and gRPC APIs

How you will lead

● Design, build and operate systems and tools that increase the velocity of Intuit development partners:

• Build code-adjacent workflow tooling powered by multi-agent systems leveraging automation and GenAI to accelerate tasks such as PRD and design document creation and transformation of planning documents into execution ready plans in ALM tools (ex. JIRA) and initial PR drafts.

• Detect in IDE developer activities and proactively surface required contextual information such as API specs and project artifacts to them to prevent unnecessary exits from flow state.

● Coordinate closely with other PEs around shared concerns like operational excellence and AI implementation strategies and best practices

● Work closely with other developers, architects, and product managers to understand the requirements for our products and ensure that they meet customer needs and surpass their expectations.

● Identify and address performance, security, and scalability issues.

● Ensure the team successfully delivers automated tests and other tools to ensure that our products meet quality standards.

● Manage and monitor our production systems and respond to incidents in a timely fashion.

● Staying current with the latest developments in technology (such as GenAI) and integrating it into our products as appropriate enable us to solve previously intractable problems.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $245,500 - $332,500.This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits (https://www.intuit.com/careers/benefits/full-time-employees/) ).Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
