NewsNation is looking for an experienced photographer/editor to join our team based in New York City. The ideal candidate is proficient in shooting and editing video and is equipped to ably partner with a correspondent and producer to craft stories which are engaging, compelling, and accurate. The person must have a strong work-ethic, be a self-starter, a clear communicator, and a team player. Assignments will include New York based stories, but also involves frequent travel to respond to and cover major breaking news across the United States, international travel is a possibility as well.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Shoot video for news reports

• Edit reporter packages and elements for television broadcasts and digital use on Adobe Premiere

• Shoot active and dynamic live shots in various settings

• Maintain video equipment and other gear

• Operate portable live unit and ENG trucks in remote situations

• Familiarity with Bit Central & Latakoo helpful but not required

• Short notice travel and schedule flexibility will be required, including weekends

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in communications/journalism or related degree required (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education)

• At least ten years of news production experience

• Good communications skills with sound editorial judgement

• Basic knowledge of satellite live truck operation, helpful but not required

• Ability to lift and carry equipment in the range of 50 lbs. in weight

• Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all network personnel

• Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidays

• Must have the ability to travel for work, often with no prior notice

• Must join IBEW Union

• Must have a valid driver's license as driving will often be required

Salary Range: $105,000 - $110,000
