The Position

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Sourcing Director for the NBCUniversal Group Procurement organization.  This individual thrives on solving problems, develops strategic sourcing initiatives, and collaborates closely with key stakeholders.  This position requires a candidate with proven leadership ability to facilitate, guide, and implement improvements within the Sourcing organization and the operation of the Company. This role will require balancing the tactical and strategic daily and working on projects that touch A&E, Construction, and Facilities, potentially interacting with other business units to drive value and change.  This role will require close external collaboration with vendors and internal collaboration with project managers, engineers, and upper management, working closely with our finance, legal, and EHS partners.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing

  • Experience in the Strategic Sourcing process, drafting of contracts/scopes of work, financial reviews, and procurement practices

  • Actively engage with the stakeholders and project teams on upcoming projects, collaborating on project timelines, statements of work, deliverables and requirements

  • Create and manage RFP’s/RFQ’s, for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met

  • Provide insightful and detailed proposal analysis, comparisons, and solution recommendations, providing added value propositions where possible

  • Coordinate vendor site walks, presentations, or any other RFP-related meetings, being the conduit between vendors and the client group

  • Contribute to the achievement of defined performance targets, savings targets, and NBCU’s procurement guidelines

  • Independently negotiate commercial and performance aspects of outsourcing agreements - strong understanding of pricing models, SLAs, benchmarking, scope description required

  • Build and foster relationships and effectively partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and colleagues to influence change

  • Perform data/spend analysis, cost models, etc. to identify opportunities for cost reduction, TCO, and value creation

  • Work with Legal partners on master services agreements, work authorizations, change orders, etc.

  • Manage the negotiation of vendor business terms and contract redlines, ensuring the accuracy of negotiated deal points in all final documentation

  • Ownership of project and contract governance utilizing iManage, PerAngusta, or any other required system tools

  • Develop and implement vendor metrics for reporting and compliance, mitigating vendor risk, business continuity and vendor compliance

  • Acts as liaison with vendors to ensure organizational needs are met

  • Effectively manage and mentor 0-1 direct reports

  • Perform other duties as assigned

     

Operational Excellence

  • Partner with Finance to understand Capex and Opex budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities

  • Establish supplier relationships to achieve favorable terms and pricing

  • Execute tasks and projects promptly, taking ownership of managing and collaborating with stakeholders

  • Leverage industry associations, peers, and stakeholders to identify best practices for strategic sourcing for outsourcing category and supplier management

  • Provide regular intelligence to stakeholders regarding the Company’s evolving spending profile, innovative technology & solutions, savings results, risk mitigation, etc.

  • Have a proactive, forward-thinking, and solutions-focused mindset. This includes the ability to anticipate problems, recognize the broader implications of issues, be aware of internal and external factors, and develop responses/solutions to address such situations proactively.

  • Use data tools and apply robust analytics to model various business scenarios and analyze resulting cost, impact, risks, and benefits to inform and recommend business solutions

  • Develop and adapt procurement strategies based upon continuous monitoring and forecasting of impacting variable market conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university - preferably in Business Administration (Finance, Supply Chain) or related field

  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing and supplier relations experience and 7+ years leading strategic sourcing and procurement operations teams

  • Experience in various commodities such as A&E, construction, facilities, and other miscellaneous corporate services

  • Advanced skills in Excel, proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio to analyze and pivot data and provide visual aids, illustrative animations, workflows, graphs, etc.

  • Must have both quantitative and qualitative market research experience

  • Ability to interpret and utilize key financial data; can tell a story with data

  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills with the ability to quickly adapt to change

  • Must have demonstrated multitasking capabilities, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight turnarounds

  • Proven track record of high-value, complex deal-making successes with the ability to professionally navigate through difficult conversations to obtain buy-in

  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently but also able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented department

  • Business, legal and financial acumen to communicate and develop integrated sourcing strategies

  • Demonstrated comfort level with ambiguity

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the 30 Rock office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $145,000 - $170,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
