Position Duties: Design, development, and operation of a data analysis/staging platform with Bloomberg Index Services Ltd (BISL) alongside analysts from Product and Engineering. Development of software components, data models and calculators in the platform. Develop numerical tests using data science techniques to identify, assess and propose/implement remedial actions for data sets of insufficient quality or completeness. Perform reconciliation of parts of BISLs substantial cross asset class data inventory to build a Golden Source repository of data for use in indices. Setting data strategy and refine data policies and operating practices pertaining to the onboarding, maintenance, and ongoing assessment of data sets. Job Requirements: Position requires a Master’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Finance, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Quantitative Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Finance, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related followed by five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or as a Quantitative Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related.Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Programmatic data analysis using data science techniques; Python; SQL; Manipulating large datasets; Developing prototypes and proof of concepts; Object-oriented programming; and Process management.Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
