Mott MacDonald Group Assistant Resident Engineer- Construction in New York, New York

Mott MacDonald is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to join our ever-expanding construction management team in the New York City area. We are currently looking for a professional with experience in the provision of construction management services for water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and pipeline construction projects.

  • Supervise the work of field inspectors and assist the Resident Engineer in the provision of construction management services.
  • Support construction safety implementation through understanding of safety requirements.
  • Assist with project controls activities such as schedule control, cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting tools.
  • Provide assistance to RE during review of contractor progress payment requests.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer with the enforcement of contract documents including plans and specifications.
  • Assist during inspection of start-up and commissioning activities.

The successful candidate will require the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree
  • 5+years of experience performing construction management, of which minimum 3 years in water/wastewater projects
  • Registration: NYS PE (Preferred), CCM (Preferred)
  • OSHA safety training
  • Proficiency in the use of computers to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations
  • Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes

Salary Range: $153,000- $178,000
