Robert Half is partnering with a leading industrial services company based in New Orleans in search of a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to play a critical role in managing its financial operations. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including adjusting journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
Assist in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including local, state, and federal tax regulations.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee day-to-day general ledger operations, including reconciliations for significant accounts such as inventory, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
Ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date for internal and external users.
Technical Accounting Support:
Assist in implementing technical accounting standards, policies, and processes to meet industry requirements and company objectives.
Monitor and adapt to updates in accounting regulations with impacts on operations and reporting.
Job Costing and Project Accounting:
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure proper job costing and accurate allocation of expenses to projects.
Perform work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and analysis to monitor project profitability.
Internal Controls and Audit Support:
Maintain and improve internal control processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.
Support external and internal auditors by providing documentation and analysis to fulfill audit requirements.
Process Improvement and Technology Utilization:
Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the accounting function, including leveraging ERP software for automation and reporting
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and create reports to inform decision-making.
Mentorship and Development:
Act as a mentor to junior team members, sharing knowledge and assisting in their professional development.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA certification/progress toward CPA preferred.
Minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, industrial services, manufacturing, or related industries.
Hands-on experience with job costing and project accounting is a plus.
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel functionalities (pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUPs).
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
