Overview

Job Description: Warehouse Laborer / Delivery Driver, Class A CDL

The Warehouse Laborer / Delivery Driver is responsible for assisting the shipping & receiving clerk and may be needed for operating a light delivery truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and finished products.MUST HAVE A VALID CLASS A CDL.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Shipping & Receiving Clerk with daily duties, i.e. receiving and unloading incoming materials, help with pulling and loading material orders for jobs.

• Housekeeping of the warehouse and grounds.

• Other job tasks as requested by management.

• Loads truck with items scheduled for deliveries.

• Determines most efficient order of delivery and prepares schedule showing order to be followed. Consults with supervisor about any unusual problems.

• Delivers items and gets receiving slips signed.

• Uses cell phone to report on progress of deliveries.

• Picks up returns and items for use by the company. Verifies items received against packing slips and signs receipt.

• Maintains simple records of deliveries and truck mileage.

• Follows maintenance schedule for having truck serviced. Takes other vehicles for service when instructed to do so. Reports any mechanical problems to supervisor.

• Assists in general warehouse duties upon completing delivery route.

• Uses good judgment and initiative to perform duties.

• Truly acts a as "Team Member".

• Represents Ernest P. Breaux Electrical, LLC. proudly in a professional and pleasant manner.

Job Details:

• Position: Full Time, Non-Exempt

• Reports to: Operations Manager

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license ( Class A CDL ) and clean driving record.

• Ability to read directions and use a street map to plot delivery route.

• Ability to maintain simple logs and records.

• Dependable worker able to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision.

• Must be physically able to lift up to fifty pounds regularly in order to load and deliver packages.

• Must practice safe driving habits. Abide by all highway rules and regulations.

• High school diploma or holder of GED or equivalent.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements:

• As needed.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements:

• Climbing stairs.

• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
